High Ridge Road To Undergo Milling And Paving Project

STAMFORD, CT — The State of Connecticut will begin milling High Ridge Road Monday, July 26, at 7 p.m., according to an announcement from the City of Stamford. Milling will begin adjacent to the Merrit Parkway and will continue south towards the Bulls Head area over the course of the next few weeks. All road work will be conducted at night. "After working closely with the State, they have approved the paving of one of the busiest streets in our City," said Mayor David Martin in a news release. "This is yet another step in our ongoing goal of continuing to improve the conditions of our City roadways." State approval for the milling and paving project has been pursued by the city over the past few years. Residents are advised that certain traffic signals may be less responsive than usual due to the ongoing construction process. Drivers should expect possible traffic delays and should plan to seek alternative routes. Drivers are advised to drive slowly and with caution in work zones. If residents have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding traffic signals they are encouraged to submit them to Fixit Stamford where they will be logged and tracked by the Transportation Department. Questions or complaints regarding the project itself may be submitted to the state. The milling and paving project is projected to be completed early-mid September, weather permitting.
