Man Seriously Hurt In Motorcycle Crash: Stamford Police

STAMFORD, CT — A 53-year-old Stamford man was seriously hurt after his motorcycle struck an SUV on East Main Street on Monday night, police said. According to the Stamford Police Department, the accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. when a 2011 Harley Davidson Road Glide motorcycle was traveling eastbound on East Main Street approaching Houston Terrace. At the same time, police said, a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by a 43-year-old Stamford man, was heading westbound on East Main Street, also approaching Houston Terrace. Police said a preliminary investigation shows that the Nissan attempted to turn left to head south on Houston Terrace when it collided with the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was ejected, and he was later transported to Stamford Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, police said. The man was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit. Police said his condition has improved since the accident. The driver of the Nissan was uninjured, and remained at the scene. Police said he's cooperating with the investigation.
