Description

GLEN COVE, NY — A beach in Sea Cliff is closed to bathing after health officials say they found elevated bacteria levels in the water. In an online bulletin posted Wednesday, Nassau County's Health Department said Sea Cliff Beach will reopen once "testing indicates that (bacteria) samples are within acceptable limits." The department did not specify how much bacteria was found at the beach. Sea Cliff Beach — located at 56 The Boulevard — is one of two Nassau County beaches that were forced to close Wednesday due to excess bacteria. The other one is Island Park Beach. Last week, health officials closed three other beaches for the same reason. They are Philip Healey Beach and Biltmore Beach Club in Massapequa and Morgan Sound in Glen Cove.
