This class teaches how to freeze your garden harvest, what to do with your frozen veggies, how to make freezer-ready meals, & more!
Hey Neighbor!
The Greater Lansing Food Bank Garden Project and Hunter Park GardenHouse have partnered for a fall food preservation workshop series. We are offering food preservation workshops on freezing, water bath canning, and pressure canning. We encourage participation in each workshop, but WE DO NOT require participation in every workshop in the series. Please sign up for each class individually.
We try to price the workshops to cover our costs of hosting them and keeping the registration affordable for our neighbors. If you can, we ask that you pay the suggested donation for each workshop. You are always welcome to pay more to support our programming and subsidize attendance for other neighbors. If the cost of this workshop is a burden but you still want to attend, free tickets are available!
Please email or leave a message for Gardening Educator Dinah George at [email protected] or 517-999-3913 with any questions or concerns.
The Hunter Park GardenHouse, a project of Allen Neighborhood Center, is a hub for year-round farm & garden education, where neighbors volunteer to grow food, flowers, and community, and where youth develop job and life skills in service to the neighborhood.
Since 2008, the Hunter Park GardenHouse has empowered neighbors to grow, prepare, and eat healthy food to better their health and become better connected with the community. We are open 6 days a week and offer a wide assortment of programs. Our current programs include: this gardening workshops series, garden & plant supplies, growing food, and the Youth Service Corps program.
