After Care Counselor The After Care Counselors support the experience of students and faculty and embrace the mission, vision, and core values of the school, the Flint Hill Statement of Institutional Equity and Inclusion, and the Portrait of the Flint Hill Student. The After Care Counselor reports to the Director of After School and Summer Programs and is an hourly position. Responsibilities and Duties Provide for the safety and security of Flint Hill’s JK - 8th grade students in the afternoons, and on teacher workdays and delayed start days as available. Actively supervise and plan a variety of fun and engaging activities for students participation across our multiple campusesSign in/out students in each designated classPreparing and distributing snacksAssisting students with homeworkInteract positively with parents and facultyClearly communicate student expectationsSupervise and monitor the safety of students at all times between 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at one or both of our campuses at Flint Hill School. Staff hours are: 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. Mon.-Fri., part-time. Preferred Qualifications: HS diploma (some college and/or college degree preferred);Previous experience working with children required (at least one year or more preferably);Must be 18 years of age;Must be proficient in oral and written skills;Must communicate effectively with co-workers;Must have at least two references checked (written or verbal references with documentation);Must undergo fingerprinting, Criminal Background Check, Central Registry Release forms and other forms as required by Flint Hill School.Must complete all tax forms and I-9 forms.Each staff member must receive a minimum of 16 hours of annual staff training, per school year.Must also receive a negative TB test (PPD screening) every two years, as required by the DSS.
