Job description We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to become an essential part of our team! Purpose of the Position: To provide sanitation inspection and release to ensure an appropriate environment for food production, inspect and approve incoming goods before receipt, monitor Shining Ocean’s Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system, Good Manufacturing Practices Policy - GMP (GMP’s), Quality Attributes and other supporting programs related to food safety and quality. Job Duties: • Monitor status of *WH00 700 Temperature Recorder Log, changing in accordance with monitoring procedure and reporting all unusual occurrences • Perform sanitation verification through visual inspections and the use of ATP swabbing systems. Assist in the monitoring of environmental cleanliness with provided testing equipment • Ensure allergen compliance with the use of allergen testing swabs and adherence to schedule • Check entries on forms used to track ingredients and packaging, including all lot number verification. • Monitor plant equipment and environment for cleanliness and conditions such as mold formation, over-greasing, signs of impending breakage and etc. • Monitor employee compliance with *Housekeeping & Hygiene Procedure - SSOP Cleaning & Sanitation • Verification, current Good Manufacturing Practices Policy - GMP, Sanitary Standard Operating Procedures, and any other prerequisite programs as they pertain to food safety and quality • Work with receiving to check the quality of incoming raw materials, such as surimi blocks and other seafood. • Inspect co-packed products (e.g. spreads) and returned products • Ensure temperature compliance for process control • Retrieve samples as directed for analytical and microbiological testing • Appropriate documentation as needed. • Additional tasks as assigned by QA supervisor or QA Manager. Qualifications: • Able to read, write and understand English (Basic knowledge) • Basic computer skills/e-mail system (Microsoft Outlook) • Able to operate a digital camera • Able to use testing kits • Able to be flexible per job demands in a fast-paced working environment • HACCP Certification preferred Scheduled Shift: Sunday thru Thursday morning (9:00 pm to 5:30 am) or Monday thru Friday (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm) Shining Ocean is an Equal Opportunity Employer visit www.kanimi.com.
