FARM HELP POSITION - We are looking for Live on Site Farm Help on our small acreage Miniature Horse farm. Compensation value for this position equates up to $30k per annum. (Compensation for housing is based on average housing and utility costs for our area) The longer you stay the more you can make! This compensation package includes housing and ALL UTILITIES, plus additional cash amount depending on work quality, amount and longevity. Trust and loyalty goes a long way around here. Horse Experience is absolutely REQUIRED! You don’t need a college degree, or even a GED, but you MUST have horse handling, experience and equine knowledge. We are a small private breeding farm, not a boarding facility, so work hours are not extended. Current work days – Sunday thru Thursday. As we continue to downsize, so does the horse care work hours per day. Actually are considered PT number of hours. Duties Include but are not limited to: • General barn cleaning, paddock cleaning/maintenance and stall cleaning (currently 14 minis but will be reducing to 8 by around the end of Aug.) Adjustments will be made to the schedule as needed, but also could become more flexible. This job just keeps getting easier... • Horse turn in and out / feeding 2x per day (due to the split feeding times, this requires some down time during the day that are non farm working hours) • Monitor any potential hazards to avoid horse accidents, sickness and injury • Minor daily grooming • Assist with breeding program, foaling and foal handling • Cover duties if needed during owner’s absence… we don’t leave often, but coverage will be required when we do. • Additional tasks for additional pay potential • Occasional assist with stacking hay and offloading grain bags & restocking feed room. ALL applicants MUST have current horse knowledge and handling experience to be considered. If you enjoy farm life or maybe are a budding horse trainer or lover, this job may be just up your alley. Housing is a clean, 2 bdrm, 1,200sf separate entrance home apartment, all major appliances, with microwave and dishwasher, complete with own washer and dryer, all utilities paid – power, heat, including water, garbage, Xfinity and WiFi. Save from having no work commute – you’re already there! Safe and comfortable living. Sorry NO PETS, and if you are just looking for temporary housing… please don’t apply. This is not a tenancy, it is a contract employment opportunity and not looking for short term applicants. Qualified room mates considered. Requirements: • Verifiable current horse experience a MUST! • Able to lift 50 lb bag of grain and help with incoming hay deliveries. (Most of the time we have it delivered and they stack in a hay shed) • Integrity / Honest and Good Work Ethic a must… we live here too! • You have done this type of work before, are familiar with what it entails and enjoy farm type lifestyle, we work in all types of weather and sometimes including holidays. Horses gotta eat! • Must be dependable with no disabilities or health issues that would prevent you, or harm you from doing the daily duties required • Nonsmoking apartment and facility – Drugs and/or alcohol abuse use will not be tolerated - PERIOD! • Able to follow directions • Work independently and understand the importance of maintenance, and being on time! Horses are impatient! • Prides in work accomplished and presentation of the facility – our barn area is our store front • Not looking for short term help… so if what you need is interim housing, please look somewhere else. We are looking for long term help to work together with. • Valid Photo ID/ Driver’s License Applicant must agree to drug test and background check, provide 2-3 valid work references, have their own transportation and must be able to sustain any other living expenses above the compensation package. Perfect for a duo capable working couple saving up money or getting back on their feet when both need to work anyway. Compensation and potential bonuses above housing & utilities is based on performance of work. This housing is contingent upon continued contract employment.
