Description

Plant Pest Identification and Their Climate Friendly Control Thursday, August 19, 2021 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Instructor: Robert Bowden This class provides information to aid homeowners in managing insect pests in the home garden. Unfortunately, the same climate which is so ideal for gardening also provides conditions in which insects thrive. Many different insects attack landscape plants and it is impossible to know from one season to the next which of these pests will cause problems. For any pest control program to be effective, however, the homeowner must know where to look for insects and be able to identify those that are found. Join the Gardens' Executive Director, Robert Bowden, as he describes many common garden insects and how to control them. Robert Bowden is the Director of Leu Gardens and author of Florida Top Ten Garden Guide by Sunset Books and Florida Fruit and Vegetable Gardening: Plant, Grow, and Harvest the Best Edibles by Cool Springs Press. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request. Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit. Beautiful Harry P.
