Codorus Creek Boat Parade! Leisure float down the Codorus Creek in York City. Decorate, dress up and have fun! Come relive old traditions!
Come relive a hundred year-old tradition in York, PA. In the early 1900's people would dress up and decorate their boats and create a parade down the Codorus Creek. Now we pay tribute to this and draw attention to the recreational possibilities of the Codorus Creek by decorating our boats, and dressing up in costumes. PRIZES AWARDED for best decorated boat and costume!
The event is FREE! On August 28th during Yorkfest, we will meet at Bantz Park starting at 1:00 pm to stage our boats. We will launch our boats at 2:00pm and float down to the Codorus Boat Basin at Foundry Plaza. Get as creative as you'd like! If you have a message to share with the community, create a banner for your boat! You can float down the creek in a canoe, kayak, stand up paddleboard, or even make/create your own boat! Invite your friends and family to join you and let us relive old traditions and keep them alive!
