BRIDGEPORT, CT — The owner of Salem Furniture in Bridgeport has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman in his store, The New York Post reported. Hennawi Salem is accused of convincing a woman to go to the store's basement to "test" a mattress, then sexually assaulting her.
Salem was taken into custody Tuesday at the Porter Street business and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault. He posted $70,000 bond.
Salem had been previously charged in September with third-degree sexual assault, second-degree unlawful restraint, and risk of injury to a child following similar accusations from three other female victims, according to The New York Post.
He was released at that time on $60,000 bond. The case is pending and Salem has not entered a plea, according to The Connecticut Post.
