BOWIE, MD — Police said they found a drenched older man last Thursday during a Bowie welfare check. Officer Winbish met the man in a parking lot and realized he was having some trouble getting home, an incident report noted.
The write-up mentioned that Winbish bought the man a new, dry shirt so he could be more comfortable. Winbish escorted the man to the District II station where his family picked him up and brought him home safely, police explained.
"It's our commitment to not only protect those in the county but to serve as well," the Prince George's County Police Department said on Facebook. "We also salute Officer Winbish for his dedication to service."
