TOMS RIVER, NJ — After months of delays due to the pandemic, the Turning Point restaurant is almost ready to open at the Ocean County Mall, mall officials announced Tuesday. In addition, they formally announced the coming addition of PF Chang's to the mall. Turning Point, which was approved in 2019 but delayed by the pandemic, is anticipated to open in August, said Erin Barbato, spokeswoman for Ocean County Mall. Turning Point, founded in 1993 in Little Silver, is a daytime café featuring delicious breakfast, lunch and brunch options in stylish surroundings. The restaurant's menu items are made to order from scratch and the philosophy is "fresh is always best," according to the restaurant's website. The restaurant will have an outdoor patio as well as an indoor seating area. Construction on PF Chang's is scheduled to start in July, Barbato said. It will be at the new main entrance to the mall, across the parking lot from Ulta, HomeSense and Five Below. It first showed up as "coming soon" on the mall's website in late May. P.F. Chang's "is a unique combination of Chinese cuisine, attentive service, wine, and tempting desserts all served in a stylish, high-energy bistro," Barbato said. They serve dim sum and sushi as well as main dishes such as Mongolian beef or shrimp with lobster sauce, and create custom sauces tableside, guiding guests through the menu or suggesting dishes to enhance the meal. The restaurants join Sweetwater's Coffee & Tea, which opened in August 2020, following pandemic-induced delays.
