Description
ARLINGTON, VA — You'll never meet a calmer or more gentle do than Maddie, according to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. This mixed breed female is 6 and has had a couple of hardships recently.
"She was diagnosed with heart worm disease and had to have a severely broken leg amputated, but through it all she has been affectionate and friendly, wagging her tail every time someone looks her way," AWLA said. "It's particularly adorable when she paws you gently for more pets."
Despite her surgery, Maddie is walking fine and is getting stronger every day.
Now that the Arlington County Animal Shelter has reopened for in-person visits, why not send an email to schedule an appointment to visit Maddie during adoption hours?
Pet of the Week highlights animals available for adoption from the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. The Arlington County Animal Shelter at 2650 S. Arlington Mill Drive, Arlington, VA 22206, is closed to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic. Pets are still available to adopt. Visit AWLA's website to find out more.
