LAKEWOOD, CO — The city of Lakewood is seeking public input on the proposed removal of a traffic signal at the intersection of Carr Street and West 14th Avenue. The proposal would make the intersection a four-way stop controlled by stop signs. "The reason for the proposed change is this intersection has low traffic volume, few turning vehicles and substandard pedestrian and bicycle facilities," the city's proposal website reads. "With the low traffic volume, the traffic signal adds an unnecessary delay to motorists, pedestrians and cyclists alike, and an all-way stop will minimize delays caused by the traffic signal." The city plans to temporarily turn the intersection into a four-way stop for the rest of the summer to assess how it will impact traffic flow.
