Description

By Samuel Stebbins, 24/7 Wall St. - Baltimore 2021-07-15 An estimated 158,954,417 Americans have been fully vaccinated, or 48.6% of the U.S. population. So far, states have largely managed their own vaccination coordination efforts — and some have proven more efficient at it than others. In Maryland, 57.1% of the population are fully vaccinated, higher than the U.S. average. Though Maryland is doing a better job vaccinating its population than other states, there still appears to be some room for improvement. As of July 9, Maryland has received about 8,580,800 vaccinations and administered about 81.5% of those doses. As the virus mutates and new variants spread, vaccinating the population as rapidly as possible is critical. In total, there have been 462,835 confirmed cases of the virus in Maryland as of July 9 — or 7,659 for every 100,000 people. For context, there have been 10,225 known infections for every 100,000 people nationwide. All COVID-19 and vaccination data used in this story are current as of July 9, 2021. These are all the counties in Maryland where COVID-19 is slowing (and where it's still getting worse). Can't see the rest of the article?
