So far, states have largely managed their own vaccination coordination efforts — and some have proven more efficient at it than others. In Colorado, 54.2% of the population are fully vaccinated, higher than the U.S. average. Though Colorado is doing a better job vaccinating its population than other states, there still appears to be some room for improvement. As of July 20, Colorado has received about 7,144,600 vaccinations and administered about 89.1% of those doses. As the virus mutates and new variants spread, vaccinating the population as rapidly as possible is critical. In total, there have been 565,294 confirmed cases of the virus in Colorado as of July 20 — or 9,925 for every 100,000 people.
