BOULDER, CO — Since the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, a global movement has been underway for police reform and racial justice. Many Colorado law enforcement agencies have already made policy changes, and the Boulder Police Department is developing a roadmap for change. The department is also updating its master plan, which "will serve as a vision for the future setting forth goals on how the police department will serve the community," the city of Boulder said in a news release. The department held a series of virtual meetings, and community members can share their feedback online here. "This planning process includes an in-depth examination of community input, integration of the city's racial equity planning and data-driven strategies to review current operations in the context of changing conditions and determine future policing goals and strategies," the city's news release read. "The resulting document will be used as the roadmap for creating meaningful changes to public safety in Boulder."
