Christian Tabernacle Church is a Christ-centered, Bible-believing and Bible-teaching church. The Bible is the foundation and basis for everything. -We Believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16-17) -We Believe that all have sinned, and that sin separates us from God. (Romans 3:23) -We Believe that Jesus Christ bore the punishment of our sin and made us right with God. (Galatians 4:4-5) -We Believe that those who reject or ignore Jesus Christ will suffer in eternal separation from God (2 Peter 2:4-7), while those who believe and love Him will live forever in Heaven. (Matthew 5:10&12) -We Believe the Christian demonstrates faithful living by worshipping with others and by reading and studying God's Word. (Hebrews 10:25) Pastor James Morman founded Christian Tabernacle Church in 1986. What started as a home-based church, moved to 16501 Evergreen in Detroit on Sunday, November 30, 1986 and later to its current Southfield location in 1998. There are more than twenty-six (26) acres of land, which includes the Family Life Center, daycare facility, a school that can accommodate grades K- 5, a café, bookstore, fellowship hall seating 600 people, gymnasium, fitness center and a sanctuary that seats over 3,000 people. The church was organized with 12 people. Yet, by faith, the church grew to a current congregation of more than 5,000. Under Pastor Morman’s leadership and spiritual direction from the Lord, this ministry continues to blossom. Our church rests on the belief, “There’s nothing too hard for God” (Jeremiah 32:9). Our theme of “Making Disciples” stems from the need to bring others to Christ. Through the powerful tool of evangelism we can reach out to those who desire salvation and deliverance. In order to advance the kingdom of God we must address the needs of the people. Pastor Morman was given a vision for LEGACY which includes a plan to provide guidance and assistance in the areas of spiritual growth and personal development. The plan from God given to this man of God will ensure children of future generations are equipped to survive and obtain success in a global society. Proverbs 13:22 “A good man leaveth an inheritance for his children’s children.”
