Hawk's Shadow Winery & Vineyards 7500 McGregor Ln. in Dripping Springs You'll find Hawk's Shadow with a "birds-eye" view of the iconic limestone landscape and clear green-blue water of Pedernales Falls. Torr Na Lochs Vineyard & Winery 7055 W State Highway 29 in Burnet We've heard people should try the Estate Syrah or Orange Muscat on the tasting patio while overlooking the sweeping Colorado River Valley. It's apparently the perfect scenery. What to know: The tasting room and patio are open noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday; noon to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturdays. Becker Vineyards 464 Becker Farm Rd. in Stonewall This winery crafts award-winning Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhone-style wines that have been served at the White House. Tastings are held in a German stone barn, and include a souvenir Riedel wine glass with purchase. What to know: Limited reservations for groups of six or less are required to visit the winery. Pedernales Cellars 2916 Upper Albert Rd. in Stonewall Named for the Pedernales River that winds through the Texas Hill Country, this sixth-generation, family-run winery specializes in Spanish and Rhone-style wines. Take a tour of the underground wine-making cellar and enjoy a sampling of six different wines in the Estate Tasting Room. What to know: Reservations are required for all tasting experiences. William Chris Vineyards 10352 U.S. Highway 290 in Hye Stop in at this century-old farmhouse and sample wines straight from the barrel during a tour of the winemaking facility. Duchman Family Winery 13308 FM 150 West in Driftwood Located just a half-hour from Austin, Duchman produces its wines using grapes from the Texas High Plains. Sample vintages in the lovely Italianate villa, including the critically acclaimed Vermentino. Did we mention they also offer movies on the lawn and homemade pizzas? Flat Creek Estate Winery 24912 #1 Singleton Bend E. in Marble Falls Take a vineyard walk, then enjoy a wine flight paired with a meal at The Bistro, Flat Creek's on-site restaurant. Sample a variety of wines (all made with Texas grapes) in the Driftwood Tasting Room, paired with small bites like the charcuterie board.
