A Focus On Pets In Long Valley At Teen, Family Library Programs

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Dogs and cats are taking center stage through the end of July and beginning of August during some of the Washington Township Library programs for teens and families. The upcoming programs are open to teenagers beginning at grade 6 through 12, with priority in some of the programs for Washington Township residents. Some programs already have wait lists, with limited space available. These pretty "pawsome" programs at the library, some of them remote, include: Teens Make: Dog Treats - Monday, July 26 from 7 to 8 p.m., with a priority for Washington Township residents. This program currently has a wait list. Teens can learn to make dog treats remotely and will need access to an oven, baking sheet, bowl and mixing spoon. Click here for more information and to register. Teen Take Home: Pet Toys - Thursday, July 29 from noon until 5 p.m., with a priority for Washington Township residents. This program currently has a wait list. Teens can make a dog or cat toy with material kits available. Teens who register will receive information about supply pickups. Click here for more information and to register. 4H: Dogs R Us Presentation - Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 7 to 8 p.m. Registration is currently open for this program with 4H, which teaches teens and families more about socializing and training dogs. There will be a presentation on tick removal. This program will be held outdoors with a rain date scheduled if the weather is inclement. Click here for more information and to register. Teen Take Home: Pet Pop Art - Thursday, Aug. 5 from noon until 5 p.m., with a priority for Washington Township residents. Registration is currently open for this program. Teens will create DIY Andy Warhol-esque pop art images of the family cat or dog. Photos need to be sent in advance to [email protected].
