Here are the top stories today in Sacramento: You may remember, a month or so ago, there was a story in this newsletter about a snorkeler that recovered a prosthetic leg in the American River and returned it to its owner. What I didn't realize at the time was that this was the SECOND prosthetic leg in a year that this guy had found and returned to its rightful owner! Not only that, last year he pulled out 128 cell phones and 600 pairs of sunglasses from the rivers in Sacramento. He also cleans up trash and hazardous waste from the river while he's at it. This guy makes Sacramento proud! (ABC10) The Sacramento Police are investigating a death at a business park in the Woodlake neighborhood, near Exposition Boulevard. The death may be related to a traffic accident, authorities said. The man was declared dead at the scene. No more information is available. The investigation is ongoing. (FOX40)A South Sacramento church has received a grant to update the digs it uses for a clothes closet that helps those returning to work have clothes for that process. Southpointe Christian Center in South Sacramento was awarded what's called Lowe's 100 Hometowns Grant. With the $50K that comes with it, the church will update the 2 car garage it currently operates out of. The church will be able to fix the roof and add some more comforts for the volunteers and clients. (KCRA3)Police are investigating an incident involving one of their own. A 65-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after an on-duty Sacramento County deputy struck him. The deputy was responding to a call at the time when she backed her patrol car out onto the road and struck the bicyclist. She then proceeded to respond to the call. When asked if the collision is being investigated as a hit-and-run, North Sacramento area CHP said the collision is being investigated as an "injury-causing collision." (CBS Sacramento)Greg Knapp, a former Sac State football star and former NFL assistant coach has died as a result of a bicycle accident. The Sacramento State head football coach, Troy Taylor, paid tribute to the former grad, saying "Greg was not only a great former Hornet player and coach, but one of the kindest and most generous people that I've ever known."
