Description

SHOREWOOD, IL —The next school year will be the last for Troy consolidated school district Superintendent Todd Koehl. He issued a letter on Thursday morning announcing he will retire effective June 30, 2022. Koehl has served as Troy's superintendent since the summer of 2014. Before that, he spent four years as superintendent in O'Fallon. "Your board of education will begin a search for my replacement this fall," Koehl stated in Thursday's letter. "They have a vision for the future, and I am confident that the strong stature and reputation of our district will attract a talented field. "The district is filled with talented teachers and administrators, and the parent community is beyond compare. I can only be excited about the opportunities and growth that will come in the upcoming years. In many ways, it is hard not to be part of the greatness that will be in Troy." Troy's school district was founded in 1949 and includes portions of Joliet, Shorewood, Channahon, Crest Hill, and unincorporated Troy Township. Thank you, IASA, for your work in sustaining leadership for public education in Illinois. To all aspiring superintendents, I simply say listen well to your heart and the leaders you see in this event. In the superintendency, the opportunities to serve are limitless. https://t.co/aFn9vHeZDn— Dr Todd J Koehl (@DrToddJKoehl) October 9, 2020
