Oswego Mayor Elected Board President For Local Government Council

OSWEGO, IL — Mayor Troy Parlier has been elected the president of the board of directors for the Metro West Council of Governments, which represents Oswego in Springfield and Washington D.C. on policies that affect residents, the village announced Monday. Prior to his election as president of the board, Parlier served as the board's vice president. Oswego Village Administrator Dan Di Santo currently serves as the board's treasurer. "This is great news for Oswego," Parlier said in a statement. "Not only does this allow Oswegoans to have a bigger voice in major decisions that will affect our region, this is a recognition of the role that Oswego has taken as a leader among our neighboring communities." The council is comprised of mayors and village administrators of each member community, including 33 municipalities that serve more than 750,000 residents in Kendall, Kane and Dekalb Counties. The nonprofit organization promotes cooperation between the communities and advocates for state and federal policies, including taxes and infrastructure spending, on behalf of residents.
