Palo Alto To Receive $3M To Renovate Building For Museum

PALO ALTO, CA — Palo Alto is expected to receive $3 million in federal funds to help renovate the historic Roth Building that houses the Palo Alto Museum. The funds are courtesy of requests made by Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Palo Alto). Last month, the Palo Alto City Council approved $4 million of an estimated $10.5 million needed to renovate the building. Approval of the funds is contingent on it passing the full Appropriations Committee and the full House after Eshoo said the funding was secured on Friday. In total, Eshoo secured $11.25 million for eight community projects in her district. Palo Alto will also receive another $2 million, in partnership with Mountain View and Los Altos, toward mental health services — specifically to ensure that mental health-related calls are addressed by resources other than law enforcement. "I'm proud to have secured this funding which will go directly to local education projects, efforts to mitigate traffic congestion, and plans to strengthen senior care and mental health services," Eshoo said in a statement.
