Description

NAPERVILLE, IL — Kids will have the chance to investigate big rigs, climb on trucks and explore other heavy machinery at DuPage Children's Museum's Transportation Zoo, a Semi Touch-A-Truck event, on July 31. In addition to heavy-duty trucks, cement mixers, garbage trucks and other vehicles will be on display at the event. Workers who drive and use the machinery and vehicles will be on hand to explain how they function and answer questions. "This Semi Touch-A-Truck event is a fun learning opportunity, not only to learn something new about the trucks on display but as a way to build vocabulary and work on important math skills," Cassie Coffey, Senior Manager of Guest Experience at DuPage Children's Museum, said in a news release. Coffey went on to encourage parents to talk about trucks and count trucks with their children, even after the event. Tickets to the Transportation Zoo are included with admission to DuPage Children's Museum or museum membership. Museum admission is $15 for adults and children age one or older and $14 for senior citizens 59 and older. Museum members and children younger than one year old get in for free. Anyone who is two or older is required to wear a mask at event and throughout the museum, according to DuPage Children's Museum guidelines. What: Transportation Zoo, a Semi Touch-a-Truck Event When: July 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Where: DuPage Children's Museum, 301 N. Washington St., Naperville
