PITTSBURGH, PA — A 15-year-old youth faces multiple criminal charges in the South Side shooting incident early Friday that left three people seriously wounded and also injured a Pittsburgh police officer.
Police said Friday that the minor has been charged with one count of criminal attempted homicide, two counts or aggravated assault, three gun offenses, two counts of criminal mischief and two counts of reckless endangerment.
The youth will be tried as an adult, police said.
According to the Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety, police responded to the scene just after 1:30 a.m. after hearing several shots fired near the intersection of East Carson and South 18th Street. Upon arriving, they found three men shot in nearby separate locations.
At least two of the victims were treated by officers until medics arrived and transported the wounded to local trauma centers. One man was in critical condition with a chest wound; the other two were in serious condition.
Four people were detained in connection with the incident. One officer suffered a wrist injury and was treated at a hospital.
The names of the victims have not been released.
Police reported no other arrests in connection with the incident.
