LA GRANGE, IL — La Grange's festival next month may not be truly endless, but that's what it's called. From Aug. 6 to Aug. 8, the La Grange Endless Summerfest is coming back after the pandemic year. It will feature live band performances, a carnival, a car show, fireworks, food and other attractions, organizers say. It is set for La Grange's Gordon Park. Classic rock music headliners include Infinity, ARRA and Sixteen Candles. They are in addition to local groups such as Wayne Baker Brooks, Mason Rivers, American English and Evil Burrito. New attractions this year are Saturday's Escape Room adventure, where teams work to solve challenging puzzles and clues before time runs out. On Sunday, an ax-throwing experience is scheduled. An ax master is expected to teach proper throwing techniques to hit a bullseye. Admission to the festival is $5 for everyone 16 and older from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and from 2 p.m. to close Saturday and Sunday. Seniors 60 and older get in free before 5 p.m. There is no admission charge to enter the carnival. Saturday features a car, truck and motorcycle show organized by BGV Motorsports from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with awards presented for vehicles in several classes. The fireworks show is planned for 9:45 p.m. Sunday. Festival goers can get food at booths from local food establishments, including Antonino's Ristorante, La Cabanita, La Michoacana, Milk Money Brewing, Monk's Burgers & More, Nonna's Pizza and Palmer Place. Beer and wine will also be available, and tips at each beverage tent will be donated to various nonprofit groups in the community, organizers said. An action expo will highlight the services and amenities of various local businesses throughout the weekend. "Our local business owners really embrace this weekend and see it as an opportunity to show their thanks to residents who supported them during a very difficult time," Sarah Boyce, president of the La Grange Business Association, said in a statement. Parking near Gordon Park will be limited, and local residents are encouraged to walk or bike to the event. Festival volunteers are needed throughout the weekend. Available shifts, plus general festival information and updates, can be found at its website. as well as on Facebook and Instagram. The festival is organized by the Park District of La Grange and the La Grange Business Association.
