NEWTOWN, PA — Twelve firefighters were recognized for their service during the June meeting of the Newtown Fire Association. The following awards were given out to firefighters: 50 Years of Service: George Forsyth Jr. and Ray Pugh President's Award: Will Fabian Firefighter of the Year: Warren Dallas Chief's Award: Members of the Beerfest Committee Top Responders for 2020: Warren Dallas, 249 callsJim Mallon, 193 callsMike Winkler, 147 callsWill Fabian, 140 callsMike Bedard Jr., 120 callsNick Forsyth, 99 callsRay Pugh, 97 callsJim Baniewicz, 96 callsBilly Fabian, 84 calls Past Chief Matthew Gerhard was presented with an award to commemorate his six years of service as chief of the department. Robert Adams Sr. was presented with the title of Chief Engineer Emeritus for his 30 years of service as chief engineer for the department. Shields for the 50 years of service plaques were provided by Taylor's Tins, coins given to top responders were provided by Campaign Fire Coins and the plaque presented to Chief Gerhard was provided by Coin Squadron.
