JOLIET, IL — Joliet police announced that officers made two arrests following Monday afternoon's shooting in a far west side Joliet subdivision that left an 18-year-old man in fair condition after suffering a gunshot to his chest. A pair of teenagers were arrested within two hours of Monday's non-fatal shooting. On Tuesday morning, Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English announced that Neves Davis, 19, of Evanston, and Tomas Williams, 18, of Plainfield, were each charged with aggravated battery with a gun, aggravated unlawful use of a gun, aggravated discharge of a gun, reckless discharge of a gun, possession of a gun without a Firearm Owners ID and possession of ammunition without a Firearm Owners ID. Joliet police said that officers learned of a shooting around 4:45 p.m. Monday and responded to the 2200 block of Pebble Beach Drive where an 18-year-old man had suffered a gunshot to his chest. Joliet police said the man who was shot knew the men accused of the shooting. "A preliminary investigation determined that a verbal confrontation occurred between the victim and Williams and Davis. Shortly after the confrontation, Davis and Williams discharged firearms at the victim, striking him once in the torso. The victim ran towards the 2200 block of Stonehaven Drive where he was located by officers," Joliet police said. Mugshot via Joliet PD A Joliet Fire Department ambulance rushed the man who was shot to AMITA St. Joe's hospital. Police said his wounds were not life threatening. "Through the assistance of a K9, Officers tracked the offenders to a residence in the 5200 block of Brindlewood Drive," police reports show. "Williams and Davis were located at the residence. Both provided statements indicating involvement in the shooting and they were taken into custody without incident. Officers received consent to search the residence at which time they recovered two handguns that were used in the incident. It was determined that two uninvolved vehicles and a residence were also struck by gunfire." The Joliet Police Department also thanked the assistance of the Bolingbrook Police Department K9 during this incident.
