Child Porn Possession: Man Charged After Wilcox St. Arrest

JOLIET, IL — A 30-year-old Joliet man who lives in the 700 block of Wilcox Street was arrested Wednesday by the Illinois State Police and charged with four counts of possessing child pornography. State police booked Jose R. Leon into the Will County Jail that afternoon, and bail was set at $25,000. By Thursday evening, Leon was released from detention after posting 10 percent of his bail, according to jail logs. Leon's next hearing at the Will County Courthouse will be Aug. 11 in front of Will County Judge David Carlson's courtroom. According to the terms of his bail, Leon must not have any contact with anyone under the age of 18. He must not possess a gun or other dangerous weapon, and he was also told that he cannot access the Internet. A copy of Leon's criminal complaint was not immediately available Friday at the courthouse. Patch will update this article once that becomes available.
