Doylestown Councilman Resigns; Borough Seeks Replacement

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Councilman Joe Flood resigned as second ward representative during Doylestown Borough Council's Monday meeting. Flood, a Republican, had served in the role for more than seven years. Council passed a proclamation honoring Flood's time as a public servant. "Joe has consistently and enthusiastically argued for the interests and concerns of his constituents and he has worked to advance Doylestown as a community," Doylestown Borough Mayor Ron Strouse said Monday. Flood is a longtime resident of the Doylestown area, where he attended Central Bucks public schools. He worked for 14 years as an assistant service manager with the Thompson Organization. He is also a member of the Doylestown Business and Community Alliance. The borough is taking applications to fill Flood's vacancy for a term that will end Dec. 31, 2021. Residents of Ward 2 who have livered there on or prior to Aug. 16, 2020, and are interested in serving should submit a letter of interest and a resume to John Davis, Manager, Doylestown Borough, 57 W.
