ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst police said they arrested two men in separate incidents Sunday involving violence in public. Here is information from the reports:
Daniel A. Zito, 33, of Bensenville, was arrested about 9 p.m. Sunday on Grand Avenue on charges of aggravated battery, battery causing bodily harm and assault. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. The victim said Zito approached his car, yelled at him, reached into his car, tore his shirt and hit him. The victim suffered swelling and scrapes on the forehead. Jose A. Martinez, 50, of Chicago, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at Route 83 and North on a charge of public fighting. He was released on bond. After an accident, Martinez pushed Anthony Lacy, 29, of Carol Stream. Lacy was cited on charges of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Police said additional charges are pending against Lacy. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
