Area Students Earn Awards from Knox College At the close of the 2020-21 academic year, Knox College awarded students a variety of general and specialized prizes to high-achieving students. Area students who were honored include:Caitlin Edelmuth, of Deerfield, a member of the Knox College Class of 2021 who is majoring in Biology, was awarded the Outstanding Senior Award, which is awarded to the senior who has inspired others through effective leadership given to the community through generous service, and upheld intellectual standards through example.Daniel Bien, of Deerfield, a member of the Knox College Class of 2022 who is majoring in Political Science and Environmental Studies, was awarded the College Marshall, which is a distinctive honor and is based on nominations made by the entire faculty. Duties are to lead the graduating class at Commencement and to assist the Grand Marshal.— Merit Pages News Taylor McDowell Receives Master's Degree From Frostburg State University Taylor McDowell, of Deefield, recently received a Master of Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Md., one of nearly 700 degrees awarded for the fall semester. — Merit Pages News Yasin Haffary Named to Hamilton College Spring 2021 Dean's List Yasin Haffary, of Deerfield, has been named to the Dean's List at Hamilton College for the spring 2021 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must have carried throughout the semester a course load of four or more graded credits with an average of 3.5 or above.Haffary, a rising junior majoring in biology and dance, is a graduate of Deerfield High School. — Merit Pages News Stay Patched In!
