BLOOMINGTON, MN — A 41-year-old Elk River man was sentenced Monday to 90 days in jail after hiding a camera in a Mall of America fitting room, the Hennepin County Attorney's Office announced. He must also attend sex offender treatment.
Trevor Nielsen, 41, pleaded guilty May 20 to one count of felony interference with a minor. Police said Nielsen hid his cameras at other stores, swimming pools and one high school in the Twin Cities.
Nielsen was arrested Sept. 28, 2019, after spending nearly an hour in a Forever 21 fitting room that was adjacent to another fitting room where a camera was found, police said.
He admitted he secretly recorded people many times, including the 15-year-old daughter of his girlfriend, according to authorities.
