CHICAGO — A 48-year-old man was killed Monday after being ejected from his motorcycle in the northbound lane of Interstate 94 at Wilson Avenue. Arthur De La Cruz, 48, of Algonquin, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Illinois State Police. De La Cruz was riding his 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on I-94 at around 5:30 a.m. when for unknown reasons, he swerved onto to the left shoulder, struck the left side bridge pillar, and was ejected from his motorcycle, according to a preliminary investigation. His motorcycle came to rest on the roadway. At around 5:30 a.m., all lanes were shut down for the traffic crash investigation, with traffic being diverted off at Wilson Avenue. At around 7:15 a.m., two of the lanes were reopened to traffic. All lanes reopened to traffic at around 8 a.m., according to a news release. The crash remains under investigation.
