OHIO — Gas prices are at a seven-year high this summer, according to new data from AAA, so don't be surprised if you feel the pinch at the pump when you head out for vacation. The average gallon of gas is selling for $3.10 in Ohio, a slight discount versus the national average of $3.16, according to AAA data. Still, Buckeye State drivers are paying nearly a $1 more per gallon than they were last year, when gas prices hovered around $2.18 per gallon in July. Looking to save money in Ohio? Fill up your tank in the northeast portion of the state. Avoid the northwest and southwest portions of the Buckeye State, which tend to have more expensive gas on average. Gas prices have reached as high as $4.24 in California, $3.67 in Nevada and $3.64 in Washington state. Meanwhile, Southern states including Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Missouri enjoy the nation's lowest gas prices, ranging from $2.72 to $2.87 per gallon.
