Press release from the Town of Davidson: July 20, 2021 Gethsemane Baptist Church of Lake Norman, in partnership with Davidson United Methodist Church, Lake Forest- Davidson, and St. Alban's Episcopal Church, will host its 15th annual Back2School Community Outreach on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. To view a promotional video, click here.  Back2School aims to equip 600 K-12 students for the upcoming school year by providing book bags and school supplies to those who register for the event by August 1. Also for 2021, there is a limited supply of supplies for college students who register by August 1. Those interested can either register online or call 704-892-1635.  There are multiple ways that Davidson residents can offer their support for this event:  Despite the shift to a drive-through event in 2020, Back2School Community Outreach distributed bags and supplies to 677 students. The August 14, 2021 outreach will remain a drive through event.
