CORNELIUS, NC — Six people were arrested this week in Cornelius and now face charges that include trespassing, resisting an officer, obtaining property under false pretenses and violation of a domestic violence protection order, according to the most recent police blotter. A vehicle was broken into this week and five cases of larceny reported, Cornelius Police Department said. Cornelius police cited nearly two dozen drivers for speeding this week, 11 of whom were charged with driving either 15 mph over the posted speed limit or over 80 mph. Cornelius Police Department made the following arrests between July 7 - July 13, 2021: Lisa Marie Thompson, 51, was arrested July 8 on Torrence Chapel Road, charged with DWLR Impaired Rev and failure to maintain lane control. Edwin Clinton Saul, 37, was arrested July 8 on North Main Street, charged with misdemeanor domestic violence protection order violation. Brittany Donnell Sherrill, 33, was arrested July 9 on Zion Avenue, charged with misdemeanor second degree trespass. Karma Margarita Ramirez, 27, was arrested July 11 on Catawba Avenue, charged with misdemeanor assault on a government official/employee; DWLR impaired Rev; Expired registration card/tag; misdemeanor injury to personal property; misdemeanor resisting public officer; misdemeanor simple affray. Chelsea Marie Weeks, 28, was arrested July 11 on Denea Lynn Drive, charged with felony obtain property false pretense. Nanette Amira Newton, 27, was arrested July 11 on Nautique Boulevard, charged with misdemeanor simple assault.
