Press release from the Shelton State Community College: July 23, 2021 July 23, 2021 – Student athletes at Shelton State Community College were recently acknowledged for their academic achievement in the 2020-21 academic year. The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recognizes student-athletes for their dedication in the classroom on the NJCAA All-Academic Teams and honors them with one of three NJCAA All-Academic Student-Athlete Awards according to the following qualifying grade-point averages: NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA The Shelton State student athletes listed below were awarded. First Team: Ashley Crockett                              Softball Luke Hammond                             Baseball   Second Team: Emily Boin                                     Softball Kyle Chastine                                Baseball Griffin Eldridge                            Baseball Madalynn Langham                     Softball Emily O'Quinn                              Softball Haley Vanderford                         Softball   Walt Bailey                                   Baseball Graham Duncan                          Baseball Sam Harris                                   Baseball Garrett Mangione                        Baseball Tyler Thomason                           Baseball Hayden Walton                            Baseball In addition to individual student awards, Shelton State Baseball, Women's Basketball, and Softball were named as 2020-21 NJCAA All-Academic Teams.  Baseball earned this recognition with an overall team GPA average of 3.10, Women's Basketball with an overall team GPA average of 3.34, and Softball with an overall team GPA average of 3.50.
