CALVERTON, NY — One person was airlifted after a dirt bike crash in Calverton Friday, police said. According to Riverhead Town Police, the incident took place just after 3 p.m. on Edwards Avenue in the vicinity of a motorsports facility and track. First responders at the scene reportedly said that the dirt bike rider was having difficulty breathing but police could not immediately confirm that information. He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.
