Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 07/19/2021 212000952 Preliminary information: On Monday, July 19, 2021, at around 2:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a person shot call at 500 Wilson Mill Rd SW. Upon arrival, officers located a male suffering from a gunshot wound in his lower extremity. He was transported to the hospital alert, conscious and breathing for further medical treatment. Preliminary investigation indicates the gunshot victim and suspect both know each other and were involved in a verbal dispute that escalated to gunfire. Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit were notified and will be working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
