TARRANT, AL — A United States Postal Service worker was shot while on his route in a Tarrant neighborhood Wednesday afternoon. The shooting happened just before 2 p.m. near the intersection of Etowah Street and Enfield Street, according to an Alabama Media Group report.
The postal carrier was taken to UAB Hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.
Birmingham Postal Inspector Tony Robinson told al.com that the United State Postal Service offers a reward of up to $50,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of people responsible for attacks against USPS employees while they conduct official USPS business.
