Want to become a plumber? Or a better one?

Jobs

Buffalo NY

Description

I think most people imagine the job as getting covered in shit all day (and there can be some of that!), but what I do is fairly clean work. We specialize in remodeling. So, going into a gutted building, and installing new drain, water, and gas lines. Duct work and AC lately as well, so experience there is a huge plus. Also a lot of appliance installations, like furnaces, boilers, and water heaters. I've been doing this work for over fifteen years, and I love it. I enjoy standing back at the end of the day and appreciating a job well done. I want to find someone who can have that same pride and enjoyment. Also, someone who really wants to learn, and build up the skills to become a journeyman someday. I am a master plumber in most of the WNY municipalities, so your hours would count. Huge raise at the journeyman level. You'd need some basic skills to begin with, like how to read a tape measure and swing a hammer. Hopefully a bit of a construction background or having grown up around it. The job is more brains than muscle most days. Pay is entirely dependent on what you bring to the table.. but around 15+ if you can show up, pay attention, and move heavy shit around. Over 20+ if I can leave you on a site and come back with progress. I also own a few properties and do my own renovations as a side gig, so any other skills are a huge help as far as available hours and pay. To weed through those who don't have the attention to detail to read everything, please copy, respond to, and send all of the following: 1- Resume (doesn't need to be fancy) 2- List of construction specific experience and skills 3- What hours and pay you're looking for. 4- What was your last job and why are you leaving/left 5- Any questions you might have for me; would have to be a functional relationship after all. 6- Where are you located and do you have transportation? What's your driving record like. A company vehicle is a possibility for the right candidate. Another benefit I can offer is extreme flexibility. Want three days a week? Five? Whatever. Call off whenever you want (the night before though). Literally unlimited personal days. I'm an equal opportunity employer and mean that fully. Men, women, POC, sketchy past, age... whatever. As long as you know enough English to get by. I know some Spanish if that helps.
