Description
Meatball is our 8 month old purebred Chocolate Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog). We have had one Heeler before and my husband grew up on a ranch with Heelers and Border Collies, so we are very familiar with the breed. We have had him since he was 8 weeks old, and while we are completely in love with him, we have come to the hard realization that our house is not the best fit for him. Meatball is a great dog with a lot of focused energy. Ideally, he needs a home that can give him an outlet for the breed of dog he is. Anyone in a country setting with a lot of land, like a farm or ranch, or someone who is looking for an agility course dog and/or an amazing frisbee dog, Meatball is a perfect fit. My husband is 6'3" and Meatball can jump to his shoulders effortlessly. I can't tell you how many times he's surprised us with his agility and jumping ability. I have worked from home ever since we brought him into our house, but he needs more interaction than I can give throughout the day. We take many walks and throw the frisbee throughout the day, but he still has energy to spare. He was raised with an older dog and a cat. He gets along with both, especially our cat. He does tend to anger our older dog by always trying to herd him. Depending on the other dog breed you have, Meatball may not be a good fit for you. He does great in large dog groups as well. We have a 10 and 5 year old and he gets along with both kids great. At the end of the day, he's a breed that needs a task. He is a great dog, and this is not something we came to easily, but he needs an environment that can better mentally and physically stimulate him. With our family schedule and school starting soon, we know we won't have enough time to devote to him. To ensure he is going to a serious home, we do ask for a $150 rehoming fee. We will provide a small bag of food, his harness, leash, collar and his favorite toys, which is basically just his indestructible frisbee, a kong and a stuffed popsicle. We will only talk with serious inquiries only. Meatball is a small part of our family and we want to ensure he's going to an environment that is a perfect fit.
