Needed - Experienced Grading Operator -Two years of skid loader experience Position Overview -Wood Duck Landscapes is looking for an experienced full time Grading Operator responsible for the final touches of landscaping projects from the Des Moines Area to Lake Panorama. Hourly pay based on levels of experience. -Ideal candidates have the ability to grade residential and commercial property while working around sprinkler systems, patios, and greenery. -This is a seasonal position that may have a reduction in hours at certain times of the year (winter). During this time the primary function will change to support business needs to include snow removal. Benefits -Health Insurance -Paid time off -Retirement savings plan -Overtime Pay Job Responsibilities -Commercial and residential grading -Operation and light maintenance of equipment -Consistently adhere to established quality and safety standards -Demonstrates competency in operating landscape-construction equipment; if unfamiliar, consistently demonstrate willingness to learn -Meet deadlines and expectations expressed by owners -Effectively communicate with manager and crew members -Perform light maintenance on equipment, as needed in the field -Other assigned duties during months when hours decrease will consist of preparation for upcoming projects, organizing inventory, and shop work - when available -Understand and meet project specific tasks and deadlines -Other duties assigned Characteristics Needed to Succeed -Must have a valid driver’s license and have the ability to be added onto the company's insurance policy. -2 years of relevant experience -CDL preferred -Ability to understand general site surveying and drainage conditions -Accurately record hours worked on a daily basis, as expected per project -Demonstrate mastery of landscape skills -Strong verbal communication skills with peers and teammates -Able to assess situations and make appropriate decisions -Proficient using basic, in-field technology -Must be able to work in a safety aware environment -Ability to work in all types of weather conditions -Regular and prompt attendance required; Ability to work outside regular business hours as needed -Ability to work alternate hours and travel to multiple locations (occasionally and as needed) -Must be available for extended hours during snow events; mandatory overtime Physical Demands -The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment -While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be expected to work outside in all types of weather conditions; conditions include occasional extreme heat exposure due to natural climate.
