Job Description: Live-in animal care worker on a 53 acre farm with a dog kennel and barn. Must have horse experience- non negotiable. Responsibilities include: - Feeding, watering, medicating dogs, cats, horses, and alpacas. - Cleaning of kennel, inside and out daily - Clean catteries (2) daily - Playgroups/exercising dogs daily - Bathing, brushing, grooming dogs - Rotating horses between pastures - Horse feeding/ medicating - Horse bathing/grooming - Handling horses for farrier and vet visits - Mucking out pasture barns daily - Stall cleaning daily (5 stalls + or -) - Periodic deep cleaning of barn/kennel - Occasional farm maintenance jobs Ideal Candidate must be: - Must be 21 years or older - Able to lift at least 50 lbs - Able to stand and walk for long periods of time - Experienced with horses - Experienced with dogs - Drama Free - Drug and Alcohol Free - Non-smoker - Responsible and Reliable - Willing to work 6 days per week - Compassionate, as many of our animals are senior animals - Flexible, as we have multiple dogs that are afraid of thunderstorms, must on property on stormy days in order to medicate dogs. Animals are unpredictable- this job is babysitting and caring for animals 24/7. Most of our animals are seniors, and all of our horses are retired. None of our horses are to be ridden. Applicant must be compassionate and patient with older animals. Couples okay.
