Looking for a maintenance engineer to join our team of hard working staff in Atherton. This position is Monday-Friday with flexibility to come in on weekends/holidays or after hours as needed. Must be able to pass drug and background checks. Please do not apply if you cannot pass either of these tests. POSITION PURPOSE: The primary responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer are to maintain and service the interior and exterior of assigned homes to ensure highest standards of maintenance and service. All duties are to be performed in accordance with company policies, practices, and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Employment Requirements: 21 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States, high school Diploma or equivalent. Possess a valid driver’s license. Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form. Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to Family needs to deal effectively with all business contacts. Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to policy on appearance standards. Maintain consistent adherence to the company/family standards. Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. Specific Position Requirements: 5 years experience as a Maintenance Engineer or equivalent is preferred. Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to drive various types of vehicles, and to make repairs to house and equipment. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Physical ability to access all areas of the property. Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold); around fumes and/or odor hazards; around dust and/or mite hazards; around chemicals. Use sight to perform job functions; use smell to ensure product quality and safety. Must tolerate varying conditions of noise levels. Work in a fast-paced, busy and somewhat stressful environment. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with family, management, other staff members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines. Withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction. Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned. Must be able to work with others and communicate well. Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with family and other staff members in a congenial and polite manner. Must be able to address stressful situations with family members with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness. Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides unmatched service to family members at all times Scheduling maintenance trades such as AC, electricians, AV specialists, house and fire alarm inspectors, pet trainers, window cleaners, landscapers, gate system operators, tree trimmers and floor maintenance specialists Preventative maintenance – foreseeing problems that may arise and being prepared. Such as backup AV equipment, backup AC motors, backup batteries for computers and AV equipment, upkeep on pool equipment, additional garage door openers, sump pumps, etc. Vehicle maintenance and upkeep (driving to dealerships, DMV, etc.) Purchasing tools and materials as needed for upkeep and to maintain residence Clean roof of leaves and debris Wash roof as needed Exterior fountain upkeep Blow debris off patios and walkways as needed Apply additional bug and pest treatments as needed Washing and cleaning exterior of the house to eliminate spots from birds and bugs Clean exterior wooden doors Clean exterior furniture and keep it maintained Check fireplaces to insure they are working property and there are no problems with the gas tanks Pool house and cabana upkeep (including outdoor showers and heaters) Daily pool and pool cover checks Wash and maintain driveway and walkways Wash and maintain all exterior lighting Maintain and clean garages Clean exterior floor drains Exterior fence paint touchups as needed Exterior gate and fence maintenance Inspection of sump pumps and alarms Exterior motion light checks Exterior power checks (plugs, lights and mechanical) Interior weekly and monthly mechanical checks (filters, etc.) Interior power plug and switch checks Interior light change outs TV checks (power, cable and satellite) Water heater checks and maintenance Check all appliances and keep them in working order Repair and upkeep on interior furniture as needed Door and door handle adjustments as needed Manage AC unit in AV room to keep proper temperature to avoid overheating Interior drywall maintenance and paint as needed Check and clean vacuum system Clean and maintain all faucet strainers and drains Check toilets and sinks for leaks Adjust and tighten cabinets as needed Salt and RO system maintenance as needed Maintain temperature in wine rooms Assemble items purchased for the house and install as needed Hang pictures as needed Fix broken items as needed Transports maintenance supplies and tools to assigned areas Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas Maintain landscaping and irrigation system Fill in in other areas of the home when needed and schedules are extremely busy Help with items that come up at Marymont property as needed Performs other duties as assigned by family members or Estate Manager ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide a service or assistance to meet the needs of family members. Proper performance requires knowledge of specific function or activity and familiarity with family preferences and standards. Proper performance requires some physical and mental dexterity in order to accomplish tasks associated with the completion of the service. Possess skills to perform a service, evaluate information, and take action based upon information to complete a task or assignment or activity. Completion of a task or assignment requires use of equipment, tools or systems related to the proper performance of the service. Provide a service for others, and provide expertise based on information keyed, gathered, studied, processed or reviewed.
