Anyone play something besides metal, punk or jazz??

I'm a guitarist/bassist looking to get into another band or (preferably) start a new band. I've been looking over craigslist for a few months and everyone wants to play the same styles of music. Does anyone just play rock anymore? Not talking oldies like old bar favorites, but modern hard rock. A little about me: Plenty of experience in bands, both on stage and in studio. I understand music theory. I write my own music and am an aspiring recording engineer. I have decent gear and a job where I can get discounts on more. My influences are, without influencing my writing style: Van Halen/Sammy Hagar Alice Cooper Black Sabbath Pink Floyd Blue Oyster Cult Chevelle Seether Stone Sour One Side Zero Tool I'm currently working on new material on my own. I'll have a page posted in the near future to share my music with. As of now, I have samples from previous bands that never went anywhere.
