Drummer starting a funk band

I'm a drummer in my early 40s. Looking to start a funk band in the Tri-valley area. In particular, I'd like to play some New Orleans funk tunes. Some bands to cover or emulate are the Meters, Galactic, Papa Gros Funk, New Mastersounds, John Scofield, Dr. John, George Porter Jr., Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Neville Brothers. An ideal lineup would be keys, guitar, bass, drums, horns. I'd like to do some songs with vocals and some without. Everyone has to be willing to sing at least some backup. A beer or two at practice is fine. No drugs. Drop me a line if you're interested. Mainly looking to enjoy playing and play out once we get it together.
