We are hiring a plant care specialist who also will be working directly with rare plants. Main Objective: In addition to the general plant care (P.C.) expectations, responsible for monitoring and reporting to management the process and progress of the day-to-day operation of green house production and assisting the lead horticulture specialist as needed. General Plant Care Expectations: • Maintain a good example of professionalism and positive attitude • Responsible for setting a good example of warehouse sanitation and delicate handling of luxury plants • Maintain and practice company rules and policies • Work with supervisor to train, understand and gain approval of the P.C. Competency Checklist • Consistently re-visit your work to assess the development and success of your work Responsibilities and Duties: • Regularly communicate and strategize daily plan of operation with horticulture lead • Strategize with management best ways to improve production efficiency and systematic flow • Responsible for communicating ordering needs • Maintain a good example of professionalism and positive attitude with staff • Responsible for setting a good example of warehouse sanitation and delicate handling of rare plants • Help coach and motivate team, suggest training subjects for department as needed • Report employee progress and maintain open communication of questions and concerns to management • Maintain and enforce company rules and policies • Any experiments or changes to standard procedure must be cleared with management first • Duties of the horticulture specialist are in addition to the general plant care expectations, this position may be modified as needed based on management needs Job Requirements: • Ability to work carefully with delicate, easily-damaged, sensitive plants • Ability to work in a high-pace, production-like environment where efficiency is crucial for success • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time while examining, transplanting, and watering plants • Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout an 8-hour workday • Ability to lift 45 lbs. • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, handle responsibility, and take direction well • Must have positive attitude and ability to collaborate with others
